How small can a code be on a label?

Keep it about 2 cm (0.8 in) across as a floor, and larger on anything a shopper reads at arm's length. Small print runs and coated stock both eat into readability.

Does it still scan on a curved bottle or a pouch?

Yes, if it is bigger and flatter than you think. Curves and creases distort the grid, so size up, keep the code off the sharpest part of the curve, and test a real sample.

Can I use my brand colors?

Yes, as long as the code stays clearly darker than its background. Light-on-dark and low-contrast pairings are the most common reason a printed code fails.

Can I change where it points after printing?

No — the code is a fixed link. Point it at a page you control so you can change the content behind it without reprinting.
